Examples of music and sound to brief
'Sometimes I Wonder' - Short Film (Audio Re-edit)
All audio for this short film, directed by Theo Le Sourd, was entirely created and implemented by me. This included sourcing and recording sound effects, as well as composing, recording, and producing the full score. The project was mixed in 7.1 Dolby Surround sound and presented to a focus group, with feedback gathered and used to further refine the final product. This was an exciting and highly challenging endeavor that pushed my audio production skills and provided valuable learning experiences in sound design and post-production.
'Run To The Light' - A short film by Dayton Campbell
This is a short film written, directed and shot by Dayton Campbell. I worked with her to produce a soundtrack that was riveting and stayed true to her creative vision. This electroacoustic composition is constantly evolving with the addition of new instruments and percussion. The process was very experimental and taught me a lot about writing to a narrative.
Bus Fight Scene - Nobody (2021)
For my third year module "Audio Post Production", I was given a silent clip and tasked with recreating all of the audio for it. It gave me experience in all elements of sound for film: DX, FX, FLY, ATM/BG and MX. As well as this, I learnt the importance of cue sheets, time management and lots of other industry standard DAW practices.
'24 Hours In Police Custody'
The outro to an episode of '24 hours in police custody". The challenge with this piece was ensuring that the music was as engaging as possible, but remained respectful in regards to the topic at hand. I spent lots of time experimenting with different chord progressions and sent many different versions to my dad, an audio dubbing mixer, to figure this out.
'Spring' - Animated Short
Another university project - 'Spring' follows a girl and her dog as a trip to a magical forest turns bad. They manage to resolve the situation and they watch over the hills as the sun rises. I took a hybrid approach to this score, using mainly electronic instruments to portray the danger and evil in the first half. Then, I played in piano, acoustic and bass guitar for a lighthearted, upbeat 'happily ever after' ending to this quaint short animation.
'MyMuseum' - Mobile App
In this short advertisement for 'MyMuseum', a mini game mobile app, I composed an orchestral piece using a mix of internal and external plug-ins and added in all the sound effects.
